Of the 184 on the list, there are some notable names by business.
In the broad sphere of AI, for example, Morgan Stanley’s promotions included:
- Madhu Coimbatore: Head of the firmwide AI platform
- Shailesh Gavankar: Head of AI strategy and execution
- Bert Shen: Head of AI and innovation, and tech investment banking
- Shaan Tehal: Co-head of AI and fintech investment banking
In private credit, they included:
- Mariel Jenkins: Private debt coverage
- Tom Cresswell: COO of European private credit
- James Morphis
- Aditya Bhatla: Direct lender financing
In investment banking, they included: multiple FIG bankers (Tammy Sachan in Hong Kong, Michael McGillen in New York, Diane Hollinger in Paris); technology bankers (Anthony Rizzi, Eric Bradbury); Kelly McCarthy in biotech banking; and William Boyle, the head of continuation fund advisory.
In trading, they included: Sid Chaturvedi, a systematic equities trader who joined from Millennium in 2022; Michael Beilstein, an FX options trader, who joined from Citadel in 2018; Dominick Dimeo, Morgan Stanley’s head of corporate equity derivatives trading; Hassan Pinto, the head of US index trading; plus well-liked fixed income traders in London like Jami Qureshi.
In sales, it’s clear that hedge funds are important. Jon Mace, the head of multistrategy hedge fund sales was promoted. Alessandro Carosso, a London rates salesman, was promoted too.
There were numerous promotions in technology, alongside the AI names above. For example, Patrick Deane, the head of treasury and capital technology was promoted. So too were Amol Shukla, a distinguished engineer and head of Morgan Stanley’s development environment; Mark Jones, the global head of sales technology; and Krithi Kavenkat, the head of wealth management technology.
In equity research, it seems worth noting that Kristine Liwag, the head of aerospace and defense equity research, made the cut.
