James Belshaw: Notts County sign goalkeeper from Harrogate Town

Nott County have signed goalkeeper James Belshaw from League Two rivals Harrogate Town for an undisclosed fee.
The Nottingham-born 35-year-old, who was on the books of the Magpies as a junior player, joins the club he grew up supporting on an 18-month deal.
Belshaw moves back Nottingham to compete for the number one spot at Meadow Lane with Kelle Roos, the former Derby County and Aberdeen goalkeeper who has been first-choice since joining from Italian club Triestina in the summer.
Magpies director of football Richard Montague says Belshaw will bring “obvious passion” for Notts as well as “vast experience”, having played in the United States at Duke University before going to spend time at Walsall and feature for Bristol Rovers between two spells with Harrogate.
“This move will obviously mean a lot to him and his family and we’re delighted to help make his dream of playing for Notts a reality,” Montague told the club website., external
