Lake effect snow and wind impacting driving conditions into Monday

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — We’ll continue to see rapidly changing driving conditions this evening across CNY.
One minute it’s quiet and calm with perfect visibility the next minute you might drive into snow-covered and slippery roads with blowing snow and whiteouts at times.
Here’s the latest alert map:
Let’s get right to my snowfall forecast maps for the rest of Sunday night and then also for Monday during the day:
SNOWFALL FORECAST SUNDAY NIGHT
SNOWFALL FORECAST SUNDAY NIGHT ZOOMED IN
SNOWFALL FORECAST MONDAY ZOOMED IN
Additional snowfall is expected Monday night especially for areas east of Lake Ontario located in the Winter Weather Advisories.
Now as far as timing and impacts on the roads, CNY will continue to be in and out of lake effect snow showers and squalls this evening.
The lake snow will be drifting north and weakening for a bit before flaring back up during Monday midday and afternoon.
Here’s Futurecast to storyboard and help you plan your life and schedule around the weather:
After Tuesday and Wednesday being the mildest days of the week, get ready for a polar plunge back to real winter cold on Thursday, Thursday night, Friday and Friday night.

We’ll also be going from some rain and wind Wednesday to morning snow and icy roads on Thursday that could impact your driving.
As of now next weekend while still a bit colder than average looks okay on Saturday and there may be some snow in the area on Sunday.
