Former Ravens HC John Harbaugh makes Falcons first known interview since firing

John Harbaugh’s search for a new gig begins in earnest this week.
His first known stop: the Atlanta Falcons.
The former Ravens coach interviewed with the Falcons on Monday, the team announced. This is the first announced interview for Harbaugh this cycle.
Harbaugh, possibly the top head coach candidate, is expected to be quite popular this cycle, also likely seeing interest from the Miami Dolphins, New York Giants and Tennessee Titans, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported Sunday.
“The Giants have been recruiting Harbaugh hard since the Ravens fired him on Tuesday,” Pelissero said on NFL GameDay Morning. “The Falcons are the only team that doesn’t have a GM in place, which could allow Harbaugh to bring his preferred guy.
“The Dolphins have interest, though they already hired a GM who has no ties to John Harbaugh.
“Don’t count out the Titans, who have a lot of resources and a dynamic, young quarterback in Cam Ward to sell to potential young candidates.”
The ex-Ravens coach plans to meet in-person later this week with multiple teams about their head coaching jobs, Pelissero reported Tuesday. Harbaugh has already spoken by phone with each of the teams that have vacancies, including the Browns, Cardinals and Raiders, as he narrows his options.
