SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — One person was killed and another taken into custody following a shooting near East High School.
The shooting was first reported just before 5 a.m. on Tuesday near 1300 East and 800 South, according to the Salt Lake City Police Department.

Neither the identity of the suspect nor the victim has been publicly released.
Details on what led to the shooting were also not immediately made available and remain under investigation.
However, officers believe there is no threat to the public, and the shooting was an isolated incident between two people who got into an altercation.
