Aramark employee charged after child reports attempted sexual assault in NRG restroom, according to court documents

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A former Aramark employee was charged with attempted sexual assault after a child reported the man followed him into a stall at NRG Stadium during a Texans home game, according to court documents.
Now, the little boys’ parents are talking to reporters, saying they hope for justice and to find a good samaritan who helped them realize something was wrong.
According to Houston police, 21-year-old Ushay Nixon is accused of attempting to sexually assault the child inside a restroom stall at NRG Stadium on Sunday, December 14. The boy’s mother says her son had gone to use the restroom when Nixon, who was working as a bathroom attendant, directed him into a stall.
Once inside, the family says Nixon closed the stall door and began inappropriate actions toward the child. The boy quickly realized something was wrong, unlocked the door, and ran out.
A bystander who witnessed part of the encounter immediately sought out the child’s parents to alert them. The boy’s mom remembers what the man said to her.
“He had such concern in his voice. You could tell,” said the mom. “He kept saying, I don’t know, it didn’t look right. I don’t know if you’re okay with that type of thing, I’m not.’ He just kept repeating himself. So you could sense the concern in his voice.”
The mom asked the boy what happened, and court records show that’s when the boy told his parents that someone pulled his pants down in the bathroom. At that point, the boy’s father said he jumped up, and with the boy, went back to the bathroom area, where he says his son was able to point at Nixon.
The father says Nixon then ran into a supply closet and hid, while he called the police. Houston police were able to detain Nixon on-site.
“I wasn’t able to protect him that day, but he protected himself,” the boy’s father said. “And I keep thinking about that Good Samaritan. I’m almost begging for the chance to shake that man’s hand and thank him.”
During a recent court appearance, prosecutors revealed that Nixon had previously been accused in two similar cases, though those charges were dismissed after family members declined to move forward.
Nixon had been employed by Aramark as a restroom attendant. In a statement, the company said the employee is no longer with the organization and that it is cooperating fully with investigators.
The boy’s parents have since filed a civil lawsuit, arguing that Nixon should never have been hired for a position inside stadium restrooms.
“This is an accused pedophile that Aramark hired to work in their restrooms, and that’s just unacceptable,” the family’s attorney, Anna Greenberg, said.
Because the two previous charges were dropped, it is unclear if the arrest records alone would have shown up in a standard background check. Greenberg says she intends to find out during the civil suit process.
Nixon remains in jail. Houston Police are asking the good samaritan who intervened, along with any other witnesses from that day, to come forward.
