Fabrizio Romano shares what he’s been told about Noussair Mazraoui potentially leaving Man Utd for Juventus

Manchester United defender Noussair Mazraoui has been the subject of transfer talk while away at the African Cup of Nations.
Noussair Mazraoui will currently be preparing to represent Morocco in the semi-finals of AFCON on Wednesday evening, where they face Nigeria.
If Morocco are defeated, Mazraoui could provide a boost for Michael Carrick and return in time to play a small part in this weekend’s Manchester derby.

Ahead of the match, Mazraoui was linked with Juventus with the Italian side in the market for a new right-back.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has now had his say on what he has heard.
Fabrizio Romano provides update on Noussair Mazraoui
United have ruled out any new incomings this month, but that does not mean that players won’t leave Manchester before the window closes.
However, Romano was quick to clear up the Mazraoui rumours and rubbish an exit this month.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said: “Mazraoui, we’re getting a lot of questions today, guys, apart from the fact that the player is busy in the Africa Cup of Nations and therefore there’s nothing imminent, nothing concrete, about Mazraoui up to this point.
“Let’s say the same thing we said about Zirkzee is valid, the same thing we said about Kobbie Mainoo is valid. Manchester United is going through a moment of change. I think this is always a bit underestimated when it comes to United.

“It’s easy to name United players, but then signing them means talking to a club undergoing a profound transformation, with just a few weeks of transfer window left, and a recent change of manager.
“Carrick arrived, and another will probably arrive in the summer. So United’s idea is to change as little as possible today and then make a major change with a new manager in the summer.
“So today, signing Mazraoui, who plays on the right or left, can be a very versatile player. I think it won’t be that simple. We’ll see if Juventus try. We’ll tell you about it here.”
Why Man United must not sell Noussair Mazraoui
United fans have become increasingly frustrated at Diogo Dalot’s form this season, and Mazraoui is a perfect replacement for the Portuguese defender.
With the Red Devils reverting to a four-at-the-back formation, Mazraoui is probably the most natural right-back in the squad, and his versatility also means he can play on the left.

Additionally, under Ruben Amorim, Mazraoui was in United’s leadership group and is viewed as one of the senior figures in the dressing room.
United cannot afford to sell players with Mazraoui’s talent and mentality, instead he should be one of the players central to the rebuild under a new head coach in the summer.
