Dolly Parton to release new rendition of song with Lainey Wilson, Reba McEntire, Miley Cyrus

Dolly Parton announced that she plans to release a new rendition of one of her songs.

The country music legend, who about to turn 80 years old, plans to release the new version of “Light of a Clear Blue Morning,” featuring Lainey Wilson, Miley Cyrus, Queen Latifah, Reba McEntire, David Foster on piano and the Christ Church Choir on backing vocals.

It is scheduled to be released Friday, January 16, a few days ahead of Parton’s birthday on Monday.

Proceeds will benefit pediatric cancer research at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville.

Parton originally released the song in 1977 as part of her “New Harvest…First Gathering” album.

According to Parton’s website, she considers “Light of a Clear Blue Morning” as “her song of deliverance,” and it represents her musical epiphany that “when the Lord has set you free ‘Ye are free indeed.’”
