Drug task force officers mistaken for ICE agents in Appleton neighborhood, police say

APPLETON (WLUK) — Law enforcement agents seen on video in an Appleton neighborhood are not affiliated with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, police said.
In a Facebook post Wednesday, the Appleton Police Department confirmed the video circulating online, which shows officers in tactical uniforms in an Appleton neighborhood, does not depict ICE activity.
Rather, the agents in the video are with “a local multijurisdictional drug task force operating in Appleton with support from Appleton Officers,” according to the post.
APD says residents are welcome to contact the department if the identity of a law enforcement officer in Appleton is ever in question.
