The day after the Golden Globe Awards, there was one question on everybody’s lips: Who was Leonardo DiCaprio getting so flouncy with? A clip of the One Battle After Another actor talking to someone across from him at his Globes table went viral after New York Times reporter Kyle Buchanan tweeted it out with the caption, “Something has activated Leonardo DiCaprio during this commercial break.” In it, DiCaprio expressively jokes with an unseen person. Reading his lips, it’s clear he’s saying something about how the other person acted to a “K-pop” moment and he playfully intimidated their mannerisms. People online surmised that he was likely referring to Kpop Demon Hunters, which won Best Original Song and Best Animated Feature at the Globes.
Now, DiCaprio’s One Battle After Another co-star Teyana Taylor is revealing that he was, in fact, talking to her. “He was talking to me,” she told Access Hollywood. “And the crazy part about it is I’m so blacked out from that day that I want to say we may have been talking about KPop Demon Hunters, because I was so happy when they won. ’Cause my kids loved Kpop Demon Hunters, so I was over there jammin’. I think he caught me jammin’ and that’s when we started talking about it. I just don’t remember what he was saying.” She added that she’s not even sure if she heard his point. “I was probably just laughing and kiki-ing back and had no clue what he was saying,” she said. Just smile and nod at the man, Teyana, just smile and nod.
