Pam Bondi Slams Prosecutors’ Resignation Over Probe Into Widow

Attorney General Pam Bondi lashed out at six federal prosecutors who reportedly resigned after refusing to prosecute the widow of Renee Nicole Good, the Minnesota woman killed last week by an ICE officer.

“We had six prosecutors who suddenly decided they didn’t want to support the men and women in ICE,” said Bondi, as she visibly fumed Thursday on Fox News’ “Hannity.” “One of them was busy doing a photo shoot with The New York Times while ICE was out there risking their lives.”

Videos of the incident showed Good inside her car, partially blocking a road in her Minneapolis neighborhood, and then attempting to drive, when an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer identified as Jonathan Ross approached and fired multiple shots, killing her.

The Trump administration has blamed the 37-year-old mother, justifying the officer’s actions as self-defense. Bondi’s Justice Department has requested that Good’s widow, who can be seen outside the vehicle in some footage of the incident, be investigated for possible federal charges.

On Tuesday, The New York Times reported that six federal prosecutors resigned over pressure to investigate Good’s widow, citing sources with knowledge of the prosecutors’ decisions.

Bondi ripped the prosecutors on Fox News.

“So the breaking news tonight. I fired them all. They’re fired from the office,” Bondi told host Sean Hannity.

She also claimed the employees “had been out there interviewing at liberal law firms prior to” their resignation.

“They want to be part of the resistance? Yeah, bring it on,” Bondi said. “They’re not going to be working for Donald Trump and the Department of Justice any longer, but that’s what we’re up against, not only in Minnesota, but around this country.”

Bondi has faced increasing public and private pressure from the president, who, The Wall Street Journal reported this week, has told aides she is weak and ineffective. In September, he called her out on social media, reportedly in error, and told her to more aggressively pursue his political enemies.
