COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – The No. 2 South Carolina women’s basketball team will face another big test Thursday as it hosts No. 4 Texas at Colonial Life Arena.

The Gamecocks will look to exact revenge on the Longhorns, who won the last matchup in Las Vegas back in November.
Since the loss, South Carolina has dominated down the stretch on their way to 11 straight wins, averaging nearly 90 points per game.
Texas, meanwhile, is looking to bounce back after a 70-65 loss on the road to LSU on Sunday.

RECENT HISTORY
The programs have traded blows in several high-profile matchups since the Longhorns joined the SEC last year.
The Gamecocks took three of four from Texas during the 2024-25 season, knocking them off in the SEC Tournament title and Final Four.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR
- South Carolina ranks as one of the nation’s top defenses heading into Thursday (13th in points allowed, third in field goal percentage allowed). The Gamecocks have only allowed 70 points once this season, which was their last game against Texas.
- Ta’Niya Latson, Joyce Edwards, Tessa Johnson and Madina Okot all scored double-digit points for the Gamecocks in the November loss to Texas.
- Okot comes into Thursday as the nation’s leader in double-doubles with 13, also ranking in the top 10 in rebounds per game.
- Latson enters Thursday shooting over 50% from the field so far this season and ranks in the top 15 in the SEC in both scoring and assists.
