Preview: Oxford United (A)

Bristol City travel to the Kassam Stadium on Saturday, January 16th, as they face Oxford United in the Sky Bet Championship.
Last time out, City scored five to beat Watford 5-1 in the Third Round of the Emirates FA Cup at Ashton Gate.
Emil Riis scored his first career hat-trick, while Anis Mehmeti and Rob Atkison scored a goal apiece.
The Dane’s cup hat-trick moves him to the top of City’s scoring charts so far this season with 10, but Mehmeti and Scott Twine are hot on his heels with eight and seven respectively.
Gerhard Struber’s men have taken nine points from their last five league games, but head into Saturday’s contest after a 2-0 league defeat to Preston North End.
Currently 10th and only two points off sixth, maximum points on Saturday could see City move back into the play-off positions.
Ross McCrorie and Joe Williams are unavailable for selection as they serve suspensions following the incidents after City’s fixture against Millwall while Radek Vítek has made good progress in his recovery from injury and is available for selection.
As a result of being selected for an overseas broadcast, the match will be available to stream on Robins TV in selected overseas territories which can be viewed below.

Our Opponents: Oxford United
Oxford United host Bristol City under new management as Matt Bloomfield takes his first game in charge following Gary Rowett’s departure.
The former Ipswich Town and Wycombe Wanderers player began his managerial career at Colchester United before spending two years at the Chairboys.
Bloomfield spent nine months as Luton Town’s Head Coach before being relieved of his duties with the Hatters in the relegation zone of the Sky Bet Championship.
Appointed as U’s Head Coach on January 9th, Bloomfield has inherited a side currently 23rd in the table after only five league wins all season.
Saturday’s hosts failed to win their opening five games of the season and have since been far and few between.
The U’s have failed to register back-to-back wins all season, but after two narrow defeats to Swansea City and Ipswich Town last time out, they’ll be a side eager to make a U-turn in form.
Most recently, Oxford United earned a place in the Fourth Round of the Emirates FA Cup, beating League One side Milton Keynes Dons on penalties.
