Nottingham Panthers face Torpedo of Kazakhstan in the Gold Medal Game of the Continental Cup at the Motorpoint Arena (19:00 face-off).

It’s the first of three games on an action-packed day with Angers and Mogo going head-to-head in the Placement Game (11:00), before Herning and Katowice battle it out for the bronze medal (15:00).

Panthers booked their place in the final with two wins from two in the Blue Group. Wednesday’s 4-0 success over Mogo was followed by last night’s 4-0 victory over Katowice in front of over 6,000 passionate fans at the Motorpoint Arena.

Friday night’s atmosphere was insane and one of the best-ever experienced at the Motorpoint Arena as thousands of the #PanthersNation turned up the volume and out-chanted the loyal core of 400 supporters from Katowice.

Tonight is a chance for Panthers to make history and become the first UK side to win the Continental Cup twice following our success in 2017.

Torpedo finished top of the Red Group with two wins from two. A 6-2 victory over Herning was followed by a 3-2 overtime defeat by Jonathan Paredes’ Angers, but four points was enough for them to reach the final.

View from the Bench
Head Coach, Danny Stewart, said: “Torpedo have a lot of skill. They scored some beautiful goals against Herning. They will trap us up and try to hit us on the counter.

“The was we managed the puck against Katowice, we have to do that against Torpedo. We have to play physical, play with the puck and force them to defend as much as possible.”
