Browns head coach search: New name has reportedly interviewed, ‘likely finalist’

While the Browns have announced the nine interviews, they are not required to do so. Agents for coaches like those announcements to go out, and it helps teams communicate with their fans that they are moving things along. That means there could be multiple interviews that have taken place around the league but not been announced, including Green Bay Packers DC Jeff Hafley interviewing with Cleveland, as Jordan Shultz is reporting:

Hafley was the Browns secondary coach for two seasons a decade ago. He joined the college ranks as The Ohio State University’s co-defensive coordinator before taking over as head coach of Boston College. In 2024, Hafley left the college game and was hired for his current role as the Packers defensive coordinator.

Many believe that Hafley is the frontrunner for the Miami Dolphins job, but this is the first time anyone has reported an interview with Cleveland.

What do you think of Hafley as a candidate in Cleveland? Do you think this was a secret interview with the Browns or an inaccurate report?
