Aston Expressway in Birmingham shut ‘due to gantry problems’

The A38(M) Aston Expressway in Birmingham has been closed due to overhead gantry problems, according to West Midlands Roads.
The route was shut both ways, with no access to the entire expressway from any of the access points, the body – part of Transport for West Midlands – posted on X.
Those points included Spaghetti Junction, Gravelly Hill, Park Circus and Dartmouth Circus. West Midlands Roads stated shortly after 11:30 GMT that traffic would instead have to use Lichfield Road.
Earlier this month the Expressway was shut one evening in both directions between Park Circus and Dartmouth Circus, with National Highways citing a technical fault.
