Lions hiring former Cardinals offensive coordinator Drew Petzing as their new OC

The Detroit Lions are hiring former Arizona Cardinals offensive coordinator Drew Petzing as their new OC, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported Monday.
Petzing, 38, spent the last three seasons calling Arizona’s offense. The Cardinals finished the 2025 season ranked 23rd in scoring, though in Kyler Murray’s last fully healthy campaign, 2024, the team ranked 12th.
Although Detroit was still a top-five unit this season, the Lions went through too many stretches of offensive futility following the departure of Ben Johnson to Chicago, leading them to fire John Morton. They’ll be hoping the new hire gets them to higher heights in 2026.
Around the NFL will have more shortly.
