Coronation Street confirms Megan baby outcome in early ITVX episode

Coronation Street spoilers follow from Monday’s episode (19 January), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t yet aired on ITV1.

Coronation Street villain Megan Walsh shocks her teenage victim Will Driscoll tonight with the truth about her pregnancy. As Megan reveals what’s troubling her, viewers discover that she didn’t go through with having a termination last week.

Megan has been torn over her future since finding out that she’s expecting Will’s baby. While the news could threaten to expose her dark grooming secret, Megan also knows that this may be her only chance to become a mum.

In tonight’s episode, Will worries about Megan when she suffers a dizzy spell on school grounds. He desperately tries to support her, but she brushes him off as his visible concern could spark suspicion from the other students.

Back home at the Rovers Return, Will realises that Eva Price and Leanne Battersby may know something about Megan’s apparent “illness”, but they refuse to give any details away.

The situation comes to a head when Megan informs Will that she plans to leave Weatherfield for a while.

When Will voices his theory that Megan is seriously ill, she’s forced to set the record straight over what’s really going on.

“I’m not dying – I’m going to have a baby,” Megan explains. “Your baby.”

Megan confirms that Will is the father and tells him: “You’re freaked out – I was. I still am. I was this close to getting a termination yesterday. I thought it would be for the best.

“This is proof that we’re together and nobody is going to understand. [But] this could be my only chance. I’m pregnant against all odds.”

With Corrie bosses previously confirming that Megan will be caught out at some point this year, could this baby bombshell lead to her downfall?

Earlier this month, the show’s producer Kate Brooks announced that Sam Blakeman will be the first to uncover Megan’s secret grooming, which leads to her manipulating the young schoolboy.

Tim Metcalfe will also become involved in the story, which shares similarities to his own past with scheming Trisha.

Coronation Street has worked on Will and Megan’s grooming storyline with support from Barnardo’s. Support and information is available via the charity’s website.

Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
