Woman hit by car in seaside town taken to hospital with serious injuries

The road was closed as police carried out their investigation and one person has been arrested in connection with the incident

A woman has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a collision in the seaside town of Llandudno. Police were called to Charlotte Road, outside B&Q, at 11.43am earlier today, (Tuesday January, 20) after a collision involving a pedestrian and a blue BMW 1 Series.
Police and ambulance crews attended the scene, and the road was taped off while officers from the collision investigation unit carried out enquiries. The pedestrian was taken to hospital, where she remains receiving treatment for serious injuries.
A 45-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He remains in custody while enquiries are ongoing.

Following the incident, Sergeant Alun Jones of the Roads Crime Unit said: “I urge anyone who witnessed the collision and hasn’t already spoken to police to contact us.
“Additionally, anybody who was travelling in the nearby area prior to the collision and may have dash-cam footage is asked to get in touch with officers.”
