Winter storm watch issued for parts of Greater Cincinnati

Snow and cold have reached Mansfield
Snow and cold have reached North Central Ohio and will remain for the rest of January, 2026.
A winter storm watch has been issued for parts of Greater Cincinnati, according to the National Weather Service.
The watch will be in effect from the morning of Jan. 24 through late Jan. 25 for Boone, Kenton and Campbell counties in Kentucky and Clermont County in Ohio.
The weather service is warning of heavy snow, with possible total accumulations of 4 to 6 inches. Snowfall may make travel difficult.
A “major winter storm” is likely to move across the southern United States late this week into the weekend. According to forecast maps from The Weather Channel, Winter Storm Fern is expected to bring heavy snowfall to Ohio. The storm will bring ice, including a mix of snow and ice, in states south of Ohio.
“Persons should consider altering their travel plans,” the weather service’s website states. “If you do plan to travel in hazardous winter conditions, consider taking a winter storm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains, booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing.”
The storm will produce “a swath of heavy snow, sleet and freezing rain from the southern Rockies/plains and mid-south starting Friday and shifting toward the East Coast through Sunday,” according to the weather service.
