Matthew Stafford named 2025 PFWA MVP

Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford was voted Pro Football Writers of America’s Most Valuable Player for the 2025 season.
Stafford led the league in passing yards (4,707) and passing touchdowns (46) while throwing just eight interceptions, leading the Rams to a 12-5 record in the regular season. He ranked second in passer rating (109.2) and led the league in first downs (236).
Stafford became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for four or more touchdowns and no interceptions in three consecutive regular-season games from Weeks 7-10. In Week 13, he broke Tom Brady’s record for the most consecutive touchdown passes without an interception in NFL history since 1978 (28).
Stafford was the NFC Offensive Player of the Month in both November and December/January and the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 18.
This is Stafford’s first selection as the PFWA MVP, and he was named to the All-NFL team earlier this week.
