Johnson had just celebrated his 55th birthday in October.

He began his NFL career in 1993, when he was drafted in the fourth round by the Patriots. He bounced around several teams over the next two years, but eventually found his footing with the Eagles in 1995.

After he signed with Philadelphia, he played in 11 games, starting one. He recorded six sacks, 19 combined tackles and also scored one touchdown on a fumble return.
