Chipotle has added a Curt Cignetti bowl to their menu

This past season, during their run to bring home a national title that seemed beyond highly improbably just three short seasons ago, Curt Cignetti led the Hoosier’s to as many bowl victories than Indiana had accomplished in all the years prior to his arrival.
Before their College Football Playoff run that included dominant wins over Alabama (38-3) and a dismantling of Oregon (56-22) in the semifinals, the Hoosiers held on for a 27-21 win over Miami. That trio of wins matched the entire amount of bowl wins for the Hoosiers prior to coach Cig’s arrival in Bloomington (1988, 1990, and 1991).
Cignetti’s name will forever be synonymous with bowl victories now for Hoosiers fans, but his name has recently been attached to bowls of a different variety.
In the days leading up to Indiana’s matchup with Miami for the national title, a news story from The Wall Street Journal went viral on Cignetti’s order at Chipotle.
It didn’t catch fire because of it’s uniqueness (although I’d say it’s a bit odd), it struck a chord with the masses because of the incredible consistency behind it.
Nearly every day since taking over the Hoosiers, Cignetti has ordered the same exact burrito bowl consisting of rice, beans, chicken, along with a side of guacamole. Not counting their travel days, estimates put the number of burrito bowls that have been eaten by Cignetti around 500, all so that – according to him – he can dedicate more time to breaking down film.
Cig has accumulated over 64,000 reward points to Chipotle, and a potential partnership with the brand (who does offer a Gold Card to celebrity guests which grants them free meals as part of a loyalty program) has reportedly been discussed.
Today, the popular chain announced the rollout of a new “I WIN” bowl to honor Cignetti and the Hoosiers after winning it all.
Now you can order the same bowl with brown rice, chicken, black beans, and a side of guacamole for $12.50. The order contains 750 calories and 35 grams of protein, for those considering it.
It marks the second public tip of the cap to Cignetti’s historic build at Indiana since raising the most sought after trophy in college football. Google “Curt Cignetti” and a small note will appear under the search bar simply saying “Yup, he won” as a nod to his famous press conference moment where he responded to a question with “It’s simple. I win. Google me.”
For now it’s just a flashy feature for the iconic burrito spot, but if it’s anything like Cignetti it will find a way to stick around as an emerging power option for years to come.
As always, stay tuned to The Scoop for all the latest.
