Downed wire disables Belleville power

A downed power line has delayed traffic and cut off power to a large area of Belleville
The high voltage wire is down and blocking the intersection at Bell Blvd. and Sidney Street.
Belleville police and hydro crews are at the intersection, but the downed wire is causing extensive traffic delays as the intersection remains blocked. Drivers are advised to avoid the area, due to the large traffic jam caused by the incident.
Police are warning drivers that many intersections with traffic lights are without power, and are reminding drivers to treat any disabled traffic lights as 4 way stops.
Meanwhile, the power outage caused by the downed line stretches across a large chunk of Belleville, from Highway 401 in the North to Highway 2 in the south. Elexicon estimates over 5000 customers are affected, and does not yet have an estimate for how long it will take to restore power.
