The Detroit Pistons will like have Cade Cunningham back for their game on Friday, Jan. 23. 

Cunningham (left hip contusion, illness) has been upgraded to probable ahead of the Pistons’ home game against the Houston Rockets on Friday (7 p.m., FanDuel Sports Network Detroit). The newly minted 2026 All-Star Game starter initially was listed as questionable Friday morning and has missed six games this season, including Wednesday’s road win over the New Orleans Pelicans due to illness.

Cunningham was spotted at the team’s morning shootaround at their Midtown practice facility on Friday.

Caris LeVert (illness) has been downgraded to out after missing the Pelicans win with an illness. Levert, a Michigan alumnus, has missed 11 games this season. Ron Holland (illness) is probable for Friday’s game and Duncan Robinson (lower back sprain) has been upgraded to available, meaning he will play.

The Pistons improved to 32-10 following their 112-104 win over the Pelicans. Just past the midway point of the season, they are off to their second-best start in franchise history.
