Taking to Reddit, one particular fan has compiled a list of nine reasons why they expect Marv to make his presence known any day now.

They broke down a series of links from Can of Worms’ clues VT, and how they each point towards the former boybander, who shot to fame on The X Factor and is married to Rochelle Humes.

“Naughty step” was one of the clues, where a bright yellow step with the two word phrase scrawled across it sat in the garden.

According to the fan: “Marvin has discussed using the “naughty step” as a parenting technique for his children in interviews, and he and Rochelle have appeared on This Morning segments discussing parenting discipline.”

The fan further believes a reference to being an “early bird” and another to pastries and a bakery could have something to do with Marvin and his wife’s hosting on This Morning, as pastries are often enjoyed for breakfast in the morning.

At one point the mystery singer also used the phrase “written in the stars,” and JLS collaborated on their song Eyes Wide Shut with Tinie Tempah.

Tinie happens to have a song called Written In The Stars.

The eagled-eyed fan also noticed that there was a picture of hosts James May and Richard Hammond shown on-screen.

“These are Marvin Humes‘ initials (M.H.). This is a classic Masked Singer “initials” clue,” they explained.

Clues continued from the bold to the more obscure, like seeing can of worms in a garden. The fan felt the garden was a nod to the colour green, which is Marvin’s “designated colour for merchandise and branding” within JLS.

Each member of JLS has traditionally been assigned a different colour in their artwork and merch, and Marv’s has always had the emerald hue.

These was also a reference to a zucchini at a trade show – a possible nod to Marvin hosting the 2016 BAFTA Children’s Awards, where one of the major winning films that night was called My Life as a Courgette.

Lastly a reference was made to something “running in the family” – a remark the fan speculates could be referencing his JLS ‘brothers’.

Other fans of the show loved the thought that went into the guess, but also threw some extra names out there.

“The JLS clues are obviously pointing people towards Marvin but, no, it’s JB. Can of Worms is most definitely JB Gill. Genuinely, that’s the one I’m most certain of. The clues all point to his singer, presenting and gardening career,” said one user.

“I thought Reggie Yates for ‘Can of Worms.’ It sounds like him, but I’m not sure how some of clues add up,” added another.

Last week, Gargoyle was recently unmasked as being Shakespear’s Sister star Marcella Detroit, making her the fourth mystery singer to take off their mask.

The Masked Singer first aired in January 2019 in the US, and 2020 in the US.

The show first began in South Korea before anywhere else, debuting in 2015.
