Tom Brady, Richard Sherman Photos Lead Seahawks to Recall Viral Meme During NFL Playoffs

Before calling Sunday’s NFC Championship Game between the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams, Fox analyst and legendary quarterback Tom Brady had a run-in with a former foe.

Brady was photographed with Seahawks legend Richard Sherman, and the team posted a callback to the infamous “U mad, bro?” meme:

Sherman’s post-game interaction with Brady from their 2012 matchup created a viral moment that many remember. Brady spoke about the memory earlier this season.

“It was Russ Wilson’s first year as starting quarterback, and they had the Legion of Boom, a young Richard Sherman,” Brady said when recounting the game in an interview in September. “I threw, I think, two interceptions that day. That was the ‘U mad, bro?’ game. Sherm, what was up with that? I wasn’t even talking any smack to you. You came up to me after the game. You were talking smack the whole game. I barely remember that game.”

Of course, Brady got the last laugh when the Patriots defeated the Seahawks to win Super Bowl XLIX in the 2014 season.

Brady and Sherman did ultimately team up together on the 2021 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with Sherman letting it be known that Brady recruited him to the team.
