Sam Darnold’s Contract Incentives for Seahawks Reaching NFL Super Bowl 60 Revealed

Just two years ago, Sam Darnold was serving as a backup quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers. Now, he’s leading the Seattle Seahawks to their first Super Bowl in more than a decade.

His sudden rise to stardom has come with plenty of financial compensation.

Darnold signed a three-year, $100.5 million contract with the Seahawks this offseason following his breakout year with the Minnesota Vikings, and he’s managed to tack on $3 million in bonuses this year. The latest bonus was another $500,000 for winning the NFC championship.

Darnold has had a tremendous season, throwing for 4,048 yards and 25 touchdowns while leading the Seahawks to a 14-3 record that earned them the top seed in the NFC.

After breezing past the 49ers 41-6 in the divisional round, Darnold threw for 346 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday’s win over the Los Angeles Rams.

Darnold and the Seahawks will face the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl, where he’ll look to make his year even better.
