Report: Browns QB Shedeur Sanders headed to Pro Bowl as replacement

A Cleveland Browns quarterback is headed to the Pro Bowl.
Shedeur Sanders has been named a replacement for the NFL’s annual all-star festivities, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported on Monday.
The rookie Sanders played eight games, compiling 1,400 passing yards and seven touchdowns while coughing up 10 interceptions. He added 169 yards and one score on the ground.
The Colorado product was much-hyped entering last year’s draft, with some projecting him as a first-round pick.
However, Sanders’ fall quickly became the story of the draft until he was selected by Cleveland in the fifth round — two rounds after the Browns drafted another QB in Dillon Gabriel.
But Sanders eventually won the starting job from Gabriel mid-season as the Browns finished last in the AFC North at 5-12.
Now, he’ll become the first fifth-round pick to make the Pro Bowl as a rookie since Los Angeles Rams receiver Puka Nacua, per Schultz.
New England Patriots QB Drake Maye was initially selected to the Pro Bowl, but will be unable to play in the Feb. 3 event with his team headed to the Super Bowl later that week.
