Man jailed over Notting Hill drive-by shooting

A man has been jailed over a drive-by shooting in Notting Hill after a Met Police investigation.

Nathan Tokosi, 25 (10.11.99), of Grove Street, Lewisham, appeared before the Old Bailey on Tuesday, 27 January, where he was sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum term of 24 years.

A jury at the same court convicted Tokosi of attempting to murder a 27-year-old man on Tuesday, 18 March, 2025.

He was also found guilty of two counts of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and two counts of possession of ammunition with intent to endanger life.

The police investigation uncovered a variety of evidence linking Tokosi to the shooting, including his DNA inside an abandoned stolen car.

Detective Inspector Chris Shepherd, from the Central South Borough Command Unit, said: “Tokosi’s actions were premeditated, reckless and malicious. He lied at trial, maintaining that he had no involvement whatsoever in the shooting.

“The committed police investigation to bring Tokosi before the courts reflects our no-tolerance approach to gang violence on London’s streets.

“I would like to credit the investigation team for their work bringing Tokosi to justice, as well as the officers and medical staff who treated the victim after the shooting.”

Around 02:00hrs on Monday, 20 November 2023, police responded to reports of a drive-by shooting in Clydesdale Road, Notting Hill. A car pulled up to another car, with one of the passengers discharging a firearm.

Officers subsequently located the victim – who was severely injured – at his home address. He was initially taken to hospital with injuries assessed as life-threatening, but was subsequently discharged.

A stolen car was found abandoned in Allington Road, Queen’s Park. Nearby, police located a black bag containing a handgun and ammunition. Forensics officers attended and found Tokosi’s DNA inside the vehicle.

Tokosi was arrested in Lewisham on Friday, 16 February 2024 after his car was stopped by police. His address was searched and a further firearm plus ammunition was found.

He was charged with attempted murder, two counts of possession of a firearm and two counts of possession of ammunition.
