Who is Camila Osorio? Alex Eala’s quarterfinals foe in the Philippine Women’s Open

Alexandra “Alex” Eala will face Colombia’s Camila Osorio in the quarterfinals of the Philippine Women’s Open on Thursday night.
Osorio, 24, is currently ranked No. 84 in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings and previously reached a career-high No. 33 in 2022.
A three-time WTA singles titleholder, Osorio has competed in all four Grand Slam tournaments.
In the 2025 season, Osorio suffered first-round exits in three Grand Slam tournaments, with her best showing coming at the Australian Open, where she advanced to the second round.
Before coming to Manila, Osorio lost to Emma Raducanu in the Hobart International Round of 32, 3-6, 6(2)-7. She also fell to Ann Li in the first round of the Australian Open, 4-6, 7(7)-6(5), 5-7.
This will mark the first career meeting between Osorio and Eala on tour.
In the ongoing WTA 125 Philippine Women’s Open, Osorio opened her campaign with a win over Sakura Hosogi before defeating Mai Hontama in the second round to book her place in the quarterfinals.
Eala, meanwhile, defeated Alina Charaeva and Himeno Sakatsume en route to the quarterfinals.
