Patriots QB Drake Maye’s throwing shoulder officially pops up on injury report

Patriots quarterback Drake Maye officially has a right shoulder injury.

The Patriots did not practice on Wednesday, but the team still had to release a practice participation and injury report ahead of Super Bowl LX. If the Patriots did practice, Maye would have been limited with a right shoulder injury.

Here’s the full simluated injury report:

DID NOT PARTICIPATE: TE Hunter Henry (not injury related/rest), LB Harold Landry III (knee), T Morgan Moses (not injury related/rest), T Thayer Munford Jr. (knee/illness) and LB Robert Spillane (ankle)

LIMITED PARTICIPATION: WR Mack Hollins (abdomen) and QB Drake Maye (right shoulder)

FULL PARTICIPATION: DT Joshua Farmer (hamstring) and RB Terrell Jennings (passed concussion protocol)

Maye landed awkwardly on his right shoulder while he was getting tackled on a 13-yard scramble in the third quarter of Sunday’s AFC Championship Game win over the Broncos. He continued to play, however, and completed a 30-yard flea flicker to Hollins two plays later.

Maye said Tuesday on “WEEI Afternoons” that he will play in Super Bowl LX against the Seahawks.

“I’m feeling good. I got in some extra rest,” Maye said. “I don’t think it’s from the game. I think it’s just the buildup of throwing, including training camp, 30 weeks straight of throwing and four days a week. It can add up.

“But I got some extra rest and I’m feeling good and ready to go for the Super Bowl.”

Spillane also left Sunday’s game with his ankle ailment. He continued to run on the sideline to test it out but did not return to action. Spillane missed games late in the season with a foot injury.

Landry missed Sunday’s game with his knee injury. Anfernee Jennings and Elijah Ponder filled in for him.

Farmer and Jennings are on injured reserve and have yet to be activated.

The Patriots also filled their practice squad Wednesday by signing linebacker Patrick Johnson and wide receiver Trent Sherfield Sr.

The Patriots will practice Thursday and Friday before heading to San Francisco for Super Bowl LX on Sunday.

The team will hold a send-off rally Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at Gillette Stadium with a performance from the Dropkick Murphys. Head coach Mike Vrabel will address the crowd and Patriots alumni and cheerleaders will be in attendance.

The event is free but tickets are required to enter the stadium. They’ll be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The Seahawks also didn’t practice Wednesday. Here’s Seattle’s projected injury report:

DID NOT PARTICIPATE: T Amari Kight (knee), LB Ernest Jones IV (chest)

LIMITED PARTICIPATION: T Charles Cross (foot), FB Robbie Ouzts (neck), WR Jake Bobo (hand), QB Sam Darnold (oblique), T Josh Jones (ankle, knee), FB Brady Russell (hand), S Julian Love (shoulder), LB Drake Thomas (shoulder), TE Eric Saubert (hamstring)
