So I think the question for the Pistons and Jaden Ivey …

Omari Sankofa: I think the issue with Ivey is not necessarily his play, but just the role. He’s averaging under 20 minutes per night. Some of that’s because he was on a minute restriction. But then you look at their win over the Pelicans… Cade missed that game… and Daniss Jenkins starts and ends up playing more minutes… The rotation right now just doesn’t have enough room for as many guards as they have… You just have to have guys who can play and have contributed to winning. So I think the question for the Pistons and Jaden Ivey is: Is this worth settling in the summer where you have a full regular season of information? I think Ivey hasn’t played 30 games since he came back… But this is worse, though, because he is a pending restricted free agent… Do you go ahead and find that next move for him now where maybe he can get the minutes he needs to audition? It wouldn’t surprise me at all if they played this out into the summer. Give him the rest of the season to get his legs back under him… But I think that’s the conversation you have to have just because he is a pending restricted free agent.
