Stark County schools cancel classes for Friday, Jan. 30

Some education systems in the Stark County area plan to remain closed on Friday, Jan. 30, due to extreme cold.

Alliance City Schools has canceled classes, making it an entire week students have been out of the classroom due to weather conditions.

The National Weather Service in Cleveland reports the arctic air will continue through the weekend. Wind chills and/or low temperatures of -5 to -20 degrees are expected.

Malone University will once again operate under remote operations and instruction until 10 a.m. when it moves back to in-person instruction.
