Confident Group owner CJ Roy dies by suicide after shooting himself at office

A tragic incident involving Confident Group owner CJ Roy was reported from central Bengaluru, where he died by suicide after shooting himself at his office located near Richmond Circle.

According to available information, the incident took place inside the Confident Group office premises. CJ Roy reportedly fired a gunshot at himself, leading to his death. The incident has caused shock and concern among those in the business and real estate circles.

He was immediately admitted to Narayana Hospital in HSR Layout, but CJ Roy succumbed to his injuries as the treatment did not succeed.

The cause of death has been linked to ongoing Income Tax raids against the businessman. Sources confirmed that IT raids had been conducted earlier and fresh raids were also carried out today. The developments reportedly led to extreme pressure, resulting in the tragic act.

He allegedly shot himself with a pistol in the presence of Income Tax officials inside his chamber in the office during the course of the investigation, according to the preliminary investigation.

While Income Tax officials were examining documents during the investigation, he took the extreme step.

C.J. Roy sustained a gunshot injury to the chest, following which Income Tax officials present at the location immediately shifted him to a hospital for treatment.

The Income Tax officials, who had conducted a raid at the Confident Group office, have now halted the operation and are returning, after seizing bags of documents transported in two Innova cars.

Police have reached the spot and initiated further procedures. More details surrounding the circumstances of the incident are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
