Jets add two Ohio State stars in Daniel Jeremiah 2026 NFL draft mock

Despite holding the second-overall selection at the upcoming 2026 NFL draft, the jury is still out on who the New York Jets could take with their top pick.

Not only do the Jets have questions around the No. 2 selection, New York holds another first rounder at No. 16.

Where could the Jets go with those? NFL Network’s draft guru Daniel Jeremiah took an early offseason swing at some projections and those start and end with Ohio State.

Starting on the defensive side, the mocked pick at No. 2 is pass rusher Arvell Reese. The next at No. 16 sees wide receiver Carnell Tate head to New York.

Jeremiah’s breakdown on both prospects to the Jets can be found below:

No. 2: Ohio State Edge Arvell Reese

Ohio State Buckeyes linebacker Arvell Reese (8) reacts during the game against the Wisconsin Badgers at Camp Randall Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025 in Madison, Wisconsin.

The Jets have needs all over their defense. Reese is versatile and athletic. I think he’ll benefit from working off the edge full time after also playing off-ball linebacker during his Buckeyes career.

No. 16: Ohio State WR Carnell Tate

Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Carnell Tate (17) celebrates a touchdown Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, during the Big Ten football championship against the Indiana Hoosiers at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

This would be a value pick, but we see talented receivers go in this area of the draft year after year (Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Emeka Egbuka, Justin Jefferson). The Jets pair former Ohio State star Garrett Wilson with a fellow Buckeye.
