Oladapo Afolayan: Blackburn Rovers sign attacker from German side St. Pauli

Blackburn Rovers have signed attacker Oladapo Afolayan from Bundesliga strugglers St. Pauli on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee.
The 28-year-old, who previously spent time with West Ham, joins the club on a contract that lasts until June 2027.
Having signed for the Hammers in 2018, he was sent out on loan at Oldham Athletic and Mansfield Town, before picking up a permanent deal with Bolton Wanderers in 2021.
His form led him to being named the club’s Player of the Year in 2021-22, after scoring 20 goals in 62 starts.
That brought him to the attention of St. Pauli, who signed him in 2023.
He scored nine league goals for the German club in their promotion season of 2023-24 and went on to make 86 league appearances in all.
Afolayan is the Rovers’ third signing of the January transfer window.
