Bulls Forward Departs For Undisclosed Fee

Hereford FC can confirm that Remaye Campbell has joined National League South side, Hemel Hempstead Town, for an undisclosed fee.
Speaking about the deal, Bulls Chairman, Chris Ammonds, said:
“I think it’s important I explain to supporters how this deal has come about so they have the chance to understand the full picture.
“We did not want to lose Rem at this stage and have turned down several bids from Hemel Hempstead over the past few weeks.
“However, after we turned down the most recent offer, Rem got in touch with me directly and explained that while he was still enjoying playing for Hereford FC, he would like to speak to Hemel Hempstead about a move as the contract on offer was likely to provide him with longer-term security than the one he had here.
“Over the past couple of days, further talks have taken place and yesterday we agreed a deal with Hemel Hempstead that we feel properly reflects Rem’s value to us at this time. The deal sees us receive a healthy fee up front, with the potential for a further payment should Hemel Hempstead achieve promotion this season.
“While it’s clear the timing of Rem’s sale is not ideal, and we were under no financial pressure to sell, in the end, we felt it was sensible to take a pragmatic view in this case in terms of whether we should retain a player who had expressed an interest in a move elsewhere. We would absolutely not have agreed this deal had Hemel Hempstead’s offer fallen short of our valuation, but after further negotiation, we felt it best for our club to finalise the details and move on.
“We would like to thank Rem for his commitment during his time at the MandM Edgar Street Stadium and the professionalism he has shown while he has been aware of this interest over the past few weeks. We would also like to wish him and his family all the very best for the future.
“Finally, I can reassure Bulls fans that the hard work is continuing to strengthen our squad for the 24 games we have remaining this season. We know we need to bolster our group in terms of numbers and quality, and I remain confident that our patience in a very competitive market will pay off in the coming days and weeks.”
