Transfer deadline day is looming with mere hours to go for Manchester United to seal any last-gasp deals. With a 7pm deadline tonight, The Red Devils face a frantic scramble to sort any outstanding business.

Under interim boss Michael Carrick, United have already enjoyed a dream start. Their spectacular late 3-2 win against Fulham on Sunday capped off a scorching winning run, casting a doubt over the club’s need for additional firepower.

With just the Premier League on the agenda, Old Trafford could witness more departures than arrivals. The main priority for The Red Devils remains nailing down a permanent manager in the summer, but new recruitment chief Jason Wilcox will face an uphill battle in securing key targets as the World Cup mania reaches fever pitch. Here’s all the latest news from Old Trafford.

According to Football League World, Rotherham United are ready to propose a loan deal for Manchester United sensation Gabriele Biancheri for Michael Carrick to consider.

It would not be the first time a Red Devils young gun joined the South Yorkshire outfit, as Dan Gore is currently enjoying his second loan stint, reports the Mirror. The Millers have set their sights on Biancheri, who could play for Wales, Italy or Canada internationally.

The 19-year-old striker joined the Red Devils in 2023 from Cardiff and netted 12 goals in the under-18’s Premier League in 2023/24, before banging in 22 goals across under-18’s and under-21’s matches last season.

Rotherham are after a flexible forward and reckon Biancheri is just the ticket, having scored five goals and provided three assists in 10 Premier League 2 matches this season.

Cole Palmer valuation

Reports suggest that it would take a world record transfer fee to lure Cole Palmer away from Chelsea. Despite battling injuries this season, the Blues’ star has established himself as the club’s main man in his first two seasons there.

Chelsea snapped up Palmer for roughly £40million from Manchester City and would demand an astronomical fee to let go of the England international.

Manchester United have shown interest but would likely be put off by a price tag exceeding the £200m Paris Saint-Germain shelled out for Neymar. Palmer currently has no intention of leaving Chelsea and is reportedly keen to ink a new deal at Stamford Bridge.

Two midfielders wanted

United are planning a ‘very strong’ push for midfielders in the summer.

The position has been a priority for the club since the summer, and with Casemiro’s departure confirmed, United will need to bolster their ranks, regardless of who takes the reins.

Fabrizio Romano suggests the club might even sign two new midfielders to strengthen its squad. United have been linked to Elliot Anderson, Carlos Baleba, Adam Wharton, and Joao Gomes, and none of these players are expected to come cheap in the summer.

Additionally, Leon Goretzka will be a free agent in the summer, and United have reportedly shown interest. However, according to Romano, there are no advanced talks for the German midfielder as United continue their search for midfield reinforcements.
