In terms of Championship spending, we’re currently at £39.5m spent in this window with Birmingham being the most active.
Their acquisitions of Carlos Vicente and August Priske for a combined £13m has been the standout spend of the window.
This level is slightly above what most Championship clubs spend in January with the exception of January 2025, when £86.1m was the record outlay in winter.
Including business conducted in the summer that would take transfer spend in the Championship for 2025-26 to £349m, easily the record for spending in a single season, surpassing, unsurprisingly, 2024-25 which was £317m.
And that’s, of course, before any additional business to be completed today.
