Ex-England striker Carroll denies breach of non-molestation order

Former England striker Andy Carroll has appeared in court over an alleged breach of a non-molestation order.
The ex-Liverpool, Newcastle United and West Ham footballer, 37, attended Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday on crutches, having undergone surgery on a fracture and ligaments over the weekend.
Carroll, who now plays for National League South side Dagenham and Redbridge, indicated a not guilty plea.
The footballer, who spoke only to confirm his name, age and address, which he gave as Hackney in east London, is due to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on 4 March.
