Birthday of Rosa Parks

Feb. 4, 1913, is the birthday of Rosa Parks, known as the “mother” of the Civil Rights movement. She lived the latter part of her life in Detroit. The bus she sat on during the 1955 incident that sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott in Alabama is now in the collection of the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation in Dearborn.
