Lakers’ Jaxson Hayes suspended one game after shoving Wizards mascot

Los Angeles Lakers center Jaxson Hayes has been suspended one game for shoving the Washington Wizards mascot during pregame introductions, the NBA announced Wednesday. G-Wiz, that Wizards mascot, was not injured, league sources tell The Athletic. 

The incident occurred Friday night before the Lakers’ 142-111 win in Washington, D.C.

Hayes, who is set to participate in the NBA’s Slam Dunk contest, is averaging 6.4 points and 3.8 rebounds this season. The Lakers host the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday.
