Eagles, OL coach Jeff Stoutland parting ways after 13 seasons

Among the notable careers he shepherded were likely future Hall of Famers Jason Kelce (seven Pro Bowls, six All-Pros) and Lane Johnson (six Pro Bowls, two All-Pros), Brandon Brooks (three Pro Bowls), Landon Dickerson (three Pro Bowls), Cam Jurgens (two Pro Bowls), Evan Mathis (two Pro Bowls, All-Pro) and Jason Peters (four Pro Bowls, one All-Pro under Stoutland).

Over the last few years, Stoutland’s hog mollies were a driving force in the success of the tush push play and, in 2024, paved the way for Saquon Barkley rushing for 2,005 yards.

He’s also done a remarkable job with current offensive tackle Jordan Mailata, an Australian native who played rugby, but never football. Stoutland scouted Mailata while the future NFL O-lineman was training at the IMG Academy in Florida. Mailata would go from an International Pathway Program player to being regarded as one of the top offensive tackles in the game.

Stoutland began coaching at his alma mater, Southern Connecticut in 1984, and moved on to a notable college stops in Miami, where he was interim head coach in 2010, and Alabama (2011-12). He then caught on with the Eagles, which has thus far been his only NFL job.

Stoutland was a fixture with the Eagles, outlasting two previous head coaches, and becoming synonymous with success.

After a down year for the offense in 2025 under offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo, Philly moved on to a young upstart in Mannion, who’s ready to write his own chapters and one of the symbols of the Birds success for more than a decade is moving on.
