Miles McBride undergoes tests on ailing ankle as Knicks seek answers

WASHINGTON — Miles McBride underwent tests on his left ankle because of lingering problems, The Post has learned. The Knicks were awaiting the results Tuesday as the guard missed his fourth straight game, a 132-101 win over the Wizards.
McBride suffered a high sprain on that ankle Dec. 7 and subsequently missed eight straight games. He returned for 15 appearances — frequently flashing his 3-point shooting proficiency as a starter and sub — but recently started sitting with “left ankle injury management,” according to the injury reports.

Coach Mike Brown said last week that McBride was dealing with soreness but didn’t suffer a setback. Still, the soreness was enough to keep him off the court for over a week and to get further evaluations.
In McBride’s absence, the Knicks have gotten a big boost from Landry Shamet, who has lately served as a 3-and-D force off the bench.
