Nahshon Wright puts NFL on notice about Ben Johnson, Caleb Williams

During the 2025 season, the Chicago Bears were carried by the first year relationship of head coach Ben Johnson and quarterback Caleb Williams, a pairing that is just getting started with this franchise.

With Johnson leading the way for the offense, Williams enjoyed a brilliant sophomore breakout campaign, throwing for a franchise record 3,946 passing yards, 27 touchdowns, and seven interceptions while leading the Bears to their first NFC North division title since the 2018 season and first postseason win in 15 years.

One of the team’s biggest breakout stars of the entire season was cornerback Nahshon Wright who enjoyed a Pro Bowl, career-best season on a one-year contract with Chicago, and he came away extremely impressed with Johnson and Williams. While his return to the Bears in 2026 is unknown, Wright said that the duo of Johnson and Williams will be unstoppable for years to come.

“I’m a huge Caleb fan, I was always a huge fan of his when he was at USC,” Wright told CHGO. “For Ben, we played against him a few times when I was in Dallas, I think the only reason why we won was that (Dan) Skipper didn’t report in the game. He gave us a hell of a game, then, I knew he was a hell of a coach from the way he called plays. Just seeing them two come together, a great mind and a great quarterback that can do practically everything on the field, they’re definitely going to be a pretty unstoppable coach-quarterback duo.”

That’s the hope and plan for the Bears franchise with Johnson and Williams in the driver seat. Chicago’s long-term success will fall upon the pair’s working relationship and how they continue to develop and grow, coming off their first season in which they won 11 games, won the NFC North, and hosted two playoff games at Soldier Field, before coming up short in the NFC divisional playoff round. But the future is incredibly bright.
