Warriors vs. Suns injury report: Steph Curry and Devin Booker are out

The Golden State Warriors will be quite shorthanded tonight when they visit the Phoenix Suns. Following a busier-than-expected trade deadline, in which they shipped out Jonathan Kuminga, Buddy Hield, and Trayce Jackson-Davis, while receiving Kristaps Porziņģis, the Warriors are down a lot of players … and it doesn’t help that their superstar is still sidelined, too.

Here’s the full injury report for both teams.

Out — Steph Curry (right patellofemoral pain syndrome)

Steph remains sidelined with runner’s knee. It’s not a serious injury, but it’s also not clear when he’ll be back on the court.

Out — Jimmy Butler III (right ACL tear)

Butler’s surgery for his ACL is scheduled for Monday. He stayed on the team through the trade deadline, and likely will through the summer, as well. You can expect to see him back on the court next January or February.

Out — Seth Curry (left sciatic nerve irritation)

Still just two games played for the younger Curry, who will be re-evaluated over the All-Star break.

Out — LJ Cryer (left hamstring injury)

It really is a bummer for Cryer that he keeps being injured for shorthanded games where the Warriors would likely play him.

Out — Kristaps Porziņģis (not with team)

Technically speaking, the injury report doesn’t list Porziņģis, but it does list Hield, Kuminga, and Jackson-Davis as being not with the team. That’s because the trades haven’t been finalized yet, and physicals haven’t yet been passed. Which is also why the Warriors haven’t officially announced the deal yet.

Questionable — De’Anthony Melton (left knee soreness)

Melton wasn’t traded at the deadline, which likely means the Warriors are hoping to keep him around after this season. Unfortunately, it’s not clear if he’ll play tonight.

Out — Devin Booker (right ankle sprain)

Both teams will be without their All-Star and the face of their franchise. A bummer for fans.

Out — Jalen Green (right hamstring injury management; left hip contusion)

Green was the biggest piece the Suns received in the Kevin Durant trade, but the former second-overall pick has only appeared in two games for Phoenix.

Out — Cole Anthony (not with team)
Out — Amir Coffey (not with team)

As with Porziņģis, Anthony and Coffey don’t actually appear on the injury report. Instead, it’s Nick Richards and Nigel Hayes-Davis, the outgoing pieces of Phoenix’s deadline dealing, that are listed.

Enjoy the game, Dub Nation. It tips off at 7:00 p.m. PT on Prime.
