Snowboarder Eli Buchard, 18, is the youngest Canadian athlete competing
Canadian athletes are travelling to Milan, Italy, this week to kick off the Winter Olympics on Friday.
So, who are these accomplished beings?
This year, there are 206 athletes representing Canada and it’s the first time Canada will be sending more women than men to the Games.
These athletes are from eight of Canada’s provinces and one of the territories.
Ontario holds the top spot for producing the most Olympians with 58 athletes, while Yukon and New Brunswick are tied for fewest with two each.
Since the Games will only be running for a couple of weeks until the closing ceremonies on Feb. 22, this month is about to be jam-packed with action.
In fact, there’s so much going on, it can be hard to keep track.
To help you get prepared, CBC Kids News did the research.
We looked at stats and data from past Olympics and recent qualifying tournaments to create this breakdown of medal contenders.

Many Team Canada athletes have familial ties to the Games.
Hanna and Hared Schmidt are a team of cross skiers who are also siblings,
Similarly, a few members are second-generation Olympians, like Xavier Mckeever.
Both of his parents competed in the 1998 Winter Olympics in cross-country skiing.
About half of Team Canada athletes are first-time Olympians.
Many of them are under 20 years old!
