Team26 takes centre stage at the San Siro Olympic Stadium: 900 volunteers attend the Opening Ceremony

900 volunteers from the Milano Cortina 2026 Team26 will be behind the scenes at the Olympic Opening Ceremony on Friday night at the San Siro Olympic Stadium.
In addition to the Team26 members, over 1,200 volunteers will participate in the Ceremony, supporting the more than 150 professionals involved in the show.
These figures highlight the crucial role of volunteers in the operational setup of Milano Cortina 2026 and in the Opening Ceremony, which is designed to celebrate Olympic, sporting, and cultural values.
The Milano Cortina 2026 team of volunteers is large and diverse: 65% are women, 97% are from Italy, and the remaining 3% are from other countries. The age composition is diverse: 38% are between 18 and 25, 56% are between 26 and 65, and 5% are over 65, bringing together energy, skills, and experience.
After days of intense preparation, the opening night is a truly special moment for them. Being part of a historic event for Milano and Italy fills the Milano Cortina 2026 Team26 with pride and emotion, transforming every moment into a unique and unforgettable experience.
