US speed skater Casey Dawson set to compete in 5,000m at Winter Olympics

MILAN, Italy — U.S. speed skater Casey Dawson will compete in the men’s 5,000m at the 2026 Winter Olympics Sunday, Feb. 8.

The race is scheduled for 10 a.m. ET at the Milano Speed Skating Stadium and Peacock will provide coverage.

Dawson, a 25-year-old from Utah, won an Olympic bronze medal in the team pursuit at the 2022 Beijing Games.

“Last Olympics was kind of a trial run for me, and the whole COVID-19 pandemic tainted the experience,” Dawson said at a Team USA news conference Feb. 4, according to Olympics.com.

Dawson has competed in the 500m at four World Cup events during the 2025-26 season, winning at Calgary and posting two fourth-place finishes and an eighth-place finish.

At the Milano Cortina Winter Games, Dawson is qualified to compete in the1,500m, 5,000m, 10,000m and team pursuit.
